Illegal

On the heels of my last post regarding unsolicited marriage proposals, I opened my email to find an article about Cambodia's new rules regarding foreign marriage. Obviously, the problem they're attempting to address is quite serious, but it does give me a new answer to parking attendants, moto drivers, and any other potential grooms: "Sorry, dude, but I'm not allowed to marry you."

Wow! It's so funny. "I'm not allowed to marry you."

But, it is cool to hear that they are taking this step to address human trafficking. Sad, too, that its that much of a problem that they have to legislate it.

Any thoughts on why the international "marriages" are predominantly with South Koreans? And what if you're exempt because you're not South Korean? Does the law apply across the board?

It's a great excuse. :)
